Three trims outlined!
The U.S. version of the ID Buzz, which offers a choice between 282-hp single-motor rear-wheel-drive or a 335-hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive, will be available in three trim levels, each with features all their own.
Beginning with the Pro S, the entry-level model, an RWD powertrain is presented. Standard features within this trim level include 20-inch wheels, ambient interior lighting with 30 selectable colors, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a suite of driver-assistance tech that comes with such features as a self-parking function with memory setting that saves the parking procedure for specific spots. A second-row bench seat that provides space for up to seven is also a key highlight within this Pro S model.
Starting at $61,545, including a $1,550 destination fee, the Pro S also offers a pair of fold-away rear seats, and includes a power tailgate, LED lighting all around, power-sliding side doors and side windows, heated power-folding side mirrors with memory settings, power front-door windows, heated and cooled power-adjustable front seats with massage function and a 5.3-inch digital driver’s information display. There is also imitation leather upholstery with a choice of three color combos, as well as an illuminated VW badge on the nose of the vehicle.
With the Pro S Plus, rear- or all-wheel drive can be had, the latter of which requires second-row captain’s chairs which would reduce the passenger capacity to six. The Plus Trim, starting at $65,045, also includes features considered more desirable by today’s motoring public, like a 360-degree camera system, a head-up display and a 700-watt Harmon Kardon stereo. Other key features include a manually retractable trailer hitch, although towing capacity has not yet been revealed. This trim level embodies luxury and performance.
Optional equipment on the Pro S Plus includes a large electronically dimmed glass sunroof for $1,495; eight two-tone exterior paint choices for $995, and a second-row captain’s chairs. An available “flexboard” creates a flat floor when the seats are folded, and there is also an optional electrochromic panoramic sunroof with clear and opaque settings.
Those desiring the 2025 VW ID.Buzz’s limited-time First Edition should note that it will only be available at launch this year and is based on the Pro S Plus, meaning it offers both powertrains and the same standard equipment. It has more, though, including unique 20-inch wheels, exclusive badging and roof-mounted cross bars. The electrochromic glass is presented as standard as are motion-activated sliding doors and tailgate. With the First Edition, every interior must be the Dune option, which combines light gray leatherette upholstery with clay-colored accents and wood-like trim. Other standard equipment includes a choice of five two—tone
exteriors, roof rail crossbars, an electronically dimmable glass roof, surround-view camera, Harman Kardon sound system and Flexboard cargo system. Also standard are captain’s chairs for the second row with all-wheel drive but not for the rear-wheel-drive version.
As far as pricing and further specifics, that information will be revealed later this year, although we do know that for an additional $4,500, the two top trims can be outfitted with a more powerful dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system.
What else we know!
We do know that the ID.Buzz has a starting MSRP of just over $61,500, and the vehicle, which speaks to nostalgia but in a new world of electric cars, is truly bigger and better in many ways. With its three rows and capacity for seven seats, this minivan is presented with more room, more power, more technology and many more creature comforts than ever before!
It’s not a far stretch to realize its popularity considering the original Microbus was, despite it not starting off as an instant hit, quickly adored and adopted by campers, merchants and surfers, among others.
It features a 91kWh battery with 86 kWh of usable energy, and provides power for the single-motor, rear-wheel-drive system rated at 282 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. For the dual motor, all-wheel-drive system, it gets a 107-hp electric motor for the front axle for a combined maximum output of 335 hp.
The dual-motor ID.Buzz can spring from a standstill to 60 mph in six seconds, which is impressive for a minimal.
In terms of its range, the Environmental Protection Agency rated the single—motor, rear-drive ID.Buzz at up to 234 miles or range per charge with the more powerful, dual motor all-wheel-drive variant at 231 miles.
The Buzz in 2025, which wows both inside and out, comes with a three-year subscription to an Electrify America discount plan for DC fast charging that includes 500 kWh of free charging before the approximately 25 percent discount kicks in.
With three trim levels, the ID.Buzz gets even better if that’s possible! Each with key features that make for a stand-out vehicle through and through, trims only serve to enhance what is already an iconic vehicle.
