Volkswagen is on the fast track for 2019 with the new Arteon: the midsize luxury fastback sedan with a spacious interior and a list of amenities. Dubbed as sporty and sexy, its longer body and sleek lines give it a sharp yet stylish eye-catching exterior persona with a touch of attitude.

  1. Exterior

The Arteon will be available in three trims: the SE, SEL, and SEL Premium. Each trim is designed with the luxury in mind. Its longer and wider body features flared fenders, a sloping roofline, an expressive wide chrome grille, and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. A spark of classic luxury styling is added to the Arteon with chrome window surrounds, chrome edgings, brilliant LED headlights, and dual exhaust.

  1. Interior

With spacious five-passenger seating, the Arteon makes your time on the road comfortable and convenient whether you’re in the front or back seat. The smooth lines of the dashboard and console blend perfectly, creating a stylish and modern interior. Depending on the trim, you’ll have access to a variety of standard and optional features to enhance the driving experience such as power-adjustable front seats, suede and Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a leather steering wheel with paddle shifters.

The hatchback features proximity key-entry, three-zone automatic climate control, and a power liftgate. For total driving comfort, select a massaging driver’s seat. To enjoy the views, there’s the option of a panoramic sunroof. For cargo space, the Arteon won’t let you down with 20 cubic feet available with the seats raised.

  1. Performance

The 2019 Arteon comes equipped with a direct-injected turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine capable of producing 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. You’ll have plenty of get-up-and-go managed by the eight-speed automatic transmission — it sends power to the standard front-wheel drive or to all four wheels if you’ve selected the 4Motion all-wheel-drive option. When it comes to the driving experience, an adaptive suspension system provides a smooth and supple ride whether you’ve selected comfort or sport mode.

  1. Infotainment

Both driver and passengers will stay connected and entertained with features such as the 8-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, gesture control, and a Dynaudio premium sound system. An optional 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen is available.

The optional Digital Cockpit instrument cluster stands out as a positive piece of technology to keep you “in the know” without taking your attention away from driving. The virtual gauge display shows information about the car, a navigation map, and your current media selection.

  1. Safety

Standard features on the 2019 models are plentiful and include autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and a forward collision warning system. Optional features adding to the Arteon’s safety focus designed for the driver include parking steering assistance, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go capabilities when you’re stuck in a traffic jam, automatic post-collision braking, and an overhead view camera.

With the 2019 Arteon soon to be on the scene, expect to be impressed by this new addition to the Volkswagen family.
